Here is the third CD by this distinctive and very accomplished band. There have been a couple of personnel changes since their last recording. Most notably they have been joined by Mike Turner on clarinet, soprano and alto saxes. I don’t know how it’s happened but until this recording session I had never even heard of him. Take my word for it he is a superb musician. The rest of the line-up is Mel Hill trumpet, Mike Pembroke trombone, Jake Reeves banjo and guitar, Harri Forelius double bass and Dave Timmis drums. As we have come to expect from OFL their choice of tunes is interesting, with several little-known and out of the ordinary numbers, and not confined to standard Traditional or New Orleans jazz standards.
