Like so many great bands the OKeh All Stars came about by chance as a result of its members being together in a pick-up band. It all gelled so well they decided to become a regular working band. They are all devoted to the classic jazz of the 1920s much of which, including the music of Louis Armstrong, King Oliver etc was recorded by the OKeh Record Company in Chicago, New York, Memphis and elsewhere. The line-up on this CD (recorded in January 2006) is Ken Sims cornet; George Dawson clarinet, soprano & alto saxes; John Goddard trombone; Bob Gough piano; Geoff Over banjo; Don Smith double bass & tuba; Norman Davey drums.
