"Capturing the best in British Traditional Jazz" | ||
|---|---|---|
|
Catalogue Note: In the few years that this band has been in existence they have built for themselves a great reputation for hard-driving and exciting New Orleans jazz. Their reputation extends well beyond British shores into Europe, and in the past year or so the band has played in clubs in Germany, Denmark, Holland and Belgium. Their style of music is particularly well-suited to the sort of club venue found at the Keswick Jazz Festival and this session, recorded at the Labour Club during the 2008 festival, was one of their best. The line-up, unchanged since their last CD (PKCD-315), is David Copperwaite tpt; Howard Murray reeds; John Finch tb; Martin Bennett pno; Mac Mac Donald bjo; Jim Swinnerton bs; Stuart Smith dms. and the tunes are:- Down In Honky Tonk Town, Yellow Dog Blues, That Same Old Love, S’Wondeful, Sweet Louise, At A Georgia Camp Meeting, Together, I Want A Butter And Egg Man, I Gotta Find That Girl, June Night, Linger Awhile, Don’t Give Up The Ship.
