"Capturing the best in British Traditional Jazz" | ||

|
Catalogue Note: The band's previous CD (PKCD-314 "Taking Steps") was very well received, and rightly so. This new album which shows the band in top form, can be seen as the third part of a trilogy of CDs, the first in the series being PKCD-300 "Some Changes Made". For their latest CD the line-up is unchanged, namely Tony O'Sullivan trumpet, John Crocker clarinet & alto sax, Len Baldwin trombone, Peter Morcom tenor banjo, Gerry Rose double bass and Malc Murphy drums. They make no attempt slavishly to copy the sound of a Ken Colyer band - what would be the point? Rather they play with integrity the style of music to which Ken devoted his life. The tunes are:- I'm Looking Over A Four Leaf Clover, Gatemouth, Riverside Blues, The Thriller, Ballin' The Jack, Ciribiribin, Hilarity Rag, To-Wa-Bac-A-Wa, Winin' Boy Blues, S'il Vous Plait, Underneath Hawaiian Skies, In The Garden, The Moose, Waiting For The Robert E Lee, Climax Rag, Mama's Gone Goodbye, Ting-A-Ling.
