The Antique Six Jazzband has, in the space of about five years, become one of the country's best and most popular traditional jazz bands. On this their fourth CD for P.E.K. Sound they continue to build on their already solid reputation for top quality musicianship and entertainment, and for a wide repertoire of tunes which spans most styles of traditional jazz. The tunes on this CD, which was recorded over two days in April 2009, are:- Copenhagen, Canal Street Blues, The Mooche, You Made Me Love When I Saw You Cry, Way Down Upon The Swanee River, Am I Blue, Ace In The Hole, Chimes Blues, Sweet Sue Just You, Baby Won't You Please Come Home, Dans Les Rues d'Antibes,Tishomingo Blues, Sunset Cafe Stomp, Beautiful Dreamer, Once In A While, East Coast Trot. The band line-up is Chris Mercer trumpet; Chris Pearce clarinet, soprano & alto saxes; Richard Leach trombone; Clinton Sedgley banjo & guitar; Ian Parry double bass; Graham Smith drums. (71min)
