"Capturing the best in British Traditional Jazz"

Black Bottom Stomp -
"Millenium Eagle Jazz Band"

Catalogue Note:
This is the band's third CD for P.E.K. It was recorded live early this year on a snowy February evening at Nottingham Rhythm Club. It was touch and go whether I'd get there in time - not due to the snow but because of horrendously heavy traffic on the M1. I put my trust in Blodwyn (my sat-nav) and arrived in reasonably good time. Of course the bad weather had kept some people at home and so the audience was smaller than usual. Nevertheless the end result is another exellent CD from one of UK's best traditional jazz bands - I thnk it is probably their best. The line-up is unchanged from their last CD (PKCD-336) and the tunes are:- That's A Plenty, Go To New Orleans, Memphis Blues, Black Bottom Stomp, Hesitatin' Blues, Wild Cat Blues, Black Cat On The Fence, I Double Dare You, The Moose March, East Coast Trot, Let The Light From The Lighthouse Shine On Me, Chattanooga Stomp, Diga Diga Do, My Mother's Eyes, Climax Rag. Those of you who are familiar with the band will know that four band members sing from time to time - Peter Brown, Matt Palmer, Andy Holdorf and Chris Etherington. On this CD there are no vocals by Andy Holdorf because he had a heavy cold; on their last CD there were none by Chris Etherington for the same reason! (77min)
