LOOKING AHEAD
Things are fairly quiet on the recording front at the moment with just two recordings booked at present.
In mid March I am booked to record a new band called Slide By Slide, featuring trombonists Kevin Grenfell and Richard Leach. They will be accompanied by Ken Jones (piano), Bill Coleman (bass) and Nick Millward (drums). This is an exciting band of real class; and something a bit different!
In April I will spend two days in the company of The Antique Six Jazz Band as we record the band's fourth CD for P.E.K. Sound.
Looking a long way ahead - in January 2010 there are plans to make a new recording of Yellow Dog. This is the superb band which Brian Carrick and Derek Winters took to the 2005 Bude Jazz Festival (PKCD-287). They will play at The 100 Club in London on January 20th 2010. However the logistics of making a recording in Central London are unthinkable so it is hoped that another live/recording session can be arranged, outside London, just after the 100 Club gig.
In the next few months I will be releasing CDs by The Storyville Allstars (the Dundee band), The Millennium Eagle Jazz Band and Dennis Armstrong's Oliver Band.
Work will start soon on the new CD of Brian Carrick's Algiers Stompers with Shirley Alexander (Keswick 2008); also Derek Winters' International band Winter Sunshine (Bude 2008) and Amy Roberts' Band (Bude 2008). So plenty of good things in store!

KESWICK FESTIVAL
This is one of the festival highlights of the year and tickets are now available from The Theatre by the Lake (017687-74411). From May 6th to 10th nearly 120 jazz events will take place in 18 venues in and around the lovely Lakeland town of Keswick. This festival should not be missed. See you there I hope!
